Policy Analysis
Evidence-based evaluation of institutional questions and decision-ready conclusions.
I was raised in a family shaped by Canadian roots and a strong emphasis on hard work, education, faith, and family. Those values shaped my earliest understanding of leadership and service. During high school, I served in student government and student body leadership, where I first developed an interest in organization, administration, and public responsibility.
During my service as a Latter-day Saint missionary in the Florida Orlando Mission, that interest developed into a practical focus on administration and operations. As the mission’s vehicle fleet coordinator, I supported daily operations through logistics management involving vehicles, maintenance, scheduling, and personnel needs for over 200 volunteers. That experience strengthened my ability to organize complex systems, solve problems under constraints, and support others through reliable execution.
I later developed these interests academically, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Administration with a minor in Technical and Professional Writing and additional study in Ancient Languages. My education at Brigham Young University - Idaho has shaped a disciplined approach to research, analysis, and communication: understanding complex issues, evaluating evidence carefully, and producing clear work designed for practical use.
My senior thesis examined leadership, ethics, and public responsibility through the example of Socrates as a model of statesmanship in Plato’s Apology. The project reflected my broader interest in how individuals and institutions navigate questions of justice, duty, and responsibility.
My professional experience has also included hands-on work outside the classroom, giving me a practical perspective on the systems and communities that public institutions serve. I continue to develop as a researcher, analyst, and communicator with the goal of contributing to work that requires careful judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to service.
